Do You Really Know What Negotiations Mean?

In my working career I was heavily involved in negotiations with a range of Trade Unions covering salaries, terms of employment, social matters etc.

As is common in Western culture, entering into negotiations means a strategic discussion between two parties to resolve an issue in a way that both find acceptable. Negotiations can take place between buyers and sellers, employers and employees. This implies that both sides are aware that there has to be give and take on both sides.

According to Dr Harold Rhode, an acknowledged expert in Arab culture, this definition is not applicable in the Middle East. He writes “Periodically, the United States or Israel makes a concession to an adversary, planning—or hoping—for reciprocity. The underlying assumption is that, as the stronger party, they can afford to be generous and even, on occasion, to miscalculate. This is a fundamental misreading, not of the strength of the American or Israeli position, but of how the Muslim world will understand the concession. In the Muslim world, only weak people make concessions. An offer to compromise is a sign of weakness, encouraging those receiving one, not only not to reciprocate, but to increase the pressure against their adversaries. The frameworks are different.”

Simply put, in the Arab world, if you haven’t won the battle, any concessions are a sign of weakness. For this reason, we have seen the Iranians running rings around the various American negotiators who have stuck to a strategy that is totally inappropriate. The result has been that Iran has continued advancing its ambitions in the nuclear field.

With the American weakness in the eyes of the Arab states, they are losing trust in the US and already considering alternatives, even discussions with Iran.. These same Arab states want Israel to win because failure to do so can ultimately affect the stability of some of these countries, for example Jordan and Lebanon, either of which could be catastrophic for Israel .

In conclusion, Rhode writes “Sadly, we don’t understand how people in that part of the world think. And more importantly, we seem almost never interested in learning. And in this case, our policy is based on a misunderstanding of how Iran sees itself.

(Shi’ite) Iran doesn’t want a “balanced” policy with its neighbors, or with the US. It is pursuing a policy aimed at defeating and humiliating its Sunni Arab neighbors. And America is helping it do so.”

Only in our absurd world, terror is rewarded with statehood

Full article at https://www.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-800928

Only in the world of the absurd can a despicable purveyor of terror, Hamas, carry out a brutal massacre, killing over a thousand innocent people, torturing, murdering, and carrying out sadistic mass rape, and all this over a space of a few hours, and then run-away home to Gaza, taking with them hundreds of hostages, writes Alan Baker, an international lawyer who served as the legal adviser to Israel’s Foreign Ministry

Only in the world of the absurd can the Palestinian representative organization that encourages, finances, supports and represents such Hamas murderers, be feted and upgraded by the majority of member states in the international community.

Only in the world of the absurd can a group of non-democratic, terror-supporting states oblige the United Nations General Assembly by proposing a resolution that indulges in pampering a terror-supporting entity in a misguided and surreal demonstration of naïveté, of skewed political correctness and acute hypocrisy.

Only in the same world of the absurd can a majority of 143 states parrot their support for what they blindly proclaim to be a “two-state solution” without really understanding what they are talking about, out of total ignorance and stupidity.

And only in the world of the absurd can the majority of the international community deliberately ignore and turn a blind eye to the openly declared genocidal intentions of Iran, Hamas and the Palestinian liberation organization in their efforts to eliminate the Jewish state and kill all Jews. And this while at the same time, nevertheless upgrading the Palestinian representation in the UN.

And only in the world of the absurd can all this happen at the same time as incited and handsomely financed and organized groups of violent, hysterical antisemitic demonstrators, occupy campuses and town centers in the US and European cities, calling for the elimination of the only Jewish state.

Despite the artificial hype surrounding this resolution, the bottom line is that this upgrade does not grant the Palestinians the status of statehood or UN membership that they wished to receive. The UN General Assembly has neither the authority nor jurisdiction to establish states and grant membership status without Security Council sanction.

Despite its call for full Palestinian membership, the resolution distinctly denies and negates any notion of full membership in the UN. As such, the Palestinian delegation remains nothing more than an observer delegation, wherever and however they may be seated.

The resolution stresses that they have no entitlement to vote and have no right to membership of UN organs, including the Security Council.

The regrettable message emanating from this resolution is that the international community is not just turning a blind eye to Palestinian terror against a fellow UN member state – it is encouraging it.

Hamas's unit spying on Civilian Population

 For full report see https://tinyurl.com/5n9yhuw3

Files recovered by the IDF show the extent to which Sinwar  was investigating the civilian population through a specialized unit, the General Security Service, which functioned as a part of the government and made use of informants throughout Gaza to monitor dissent..

The people named in the files found by the Israel Defense Forces were then interviewed by reporters, and they described their personal experiences, which matched the information about them in the secret files.

The New York Times interviewed a journalist in the Gaza Strip named Ehab Fasfous, who was labeled by Hamas as a major hater of the movement, divulging his experience with the agency.

Fasfous was stopped last August on his way to a protest. His phone was taken from him, and it was then searched. The document written about him advised "closing in on [Fafous] because he is a negative person full of hate and only brings forth the Strip's shortcomings."

People in the West support Hamas

Hamas has also been able to obtain a following in the West who have been advocating for the terrorist organization during pro-Palestinian protests.

In a recent interview last month on Dr. Phil, Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef, explained the brutality of Hamas and called such protesters "idiots," which shocked the audience. “They don’t know what they are supporting," Yousef explained afterward. "Hamas is a monster."

Wake up Europe, Wake up America

 ( Submitted by Doris Heilbut)

Last night I stumbled on a news broadcast from Germany showing a demonstration, no, rather a parade of extreme Islamic Muslims in the streets of Hamburg shouting slogans against Israel and Germany, against the democratic order and law. A reporter from Spiegel TV tried to ask one of the guys about the laws they were breaking on their way to an assembly. This heavy bearded person answered in an arrogant way that German laws don't really interest him. Obviously, he was hinting that what they consider applicable are the Sharia laws of the Koran.  On the streets there was a huge crowd of the same type of bearded young men. Far behind them stood a group of women clad in burka and hijab.

Consider this just as an illustration of what will be the general picture soon all over Germany, all over civilized Western Europe, just like the sit-in in the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

There is need to stress what is happening in the United States, all over their top Universities. Riots, sit-ins, insults, violence, disregard of any law and order of the American way of life.

Wake up, Western World. I don’t know how Islam spread over big parts of Asia right after its conception in the 6th and 7th century, later over parts of North Africa and Europe. It was mostly by means of the sword. Today Islam know they cannot win by arms (except for the nuclear power Iran is building up in spite of all the agreements against it). They have other weapons, and if they are not stopped soon, it will be too late. Years ago, they minted the slogan: “What cannot be achieved by force, will be achieved by the wombs of our women”.  Well, the above-mentioned crowd of bearded men are part of the result. But that was not enough. Under the pretext of humanity, Europe accepted a huge influx of so-called refugees from all of the Middle East and North Africa. Europe was desperate for working hands since the local population was dwindling. Some of these newcomers really came to work and tried to integrate. However, most of them came to enjoy the generous social help with no intention at all to adopt the local culture. Islam was their culture, and still is, and their aim is to take over Europe with it.

They are not in a hurry. Slow subversion will do it. But in the long run, little used churches will turn into mosques. Naive girls will be influenced and enticed by generous presents and will end up covering their too obvious belly buttons in with a Taliban style Burka. In Britain certain schools have already given in to the request to serve Halal food for lunch. In other places, Muslim boys refuse to take part in gym lessons with girls.

For the time being the war between Israel and Hamas occupied Gaza if a pretext to the upheaval both in Europe and the United States. They are not really concerned by the suffering of the Gazans which has been distorted by the fake news coming from there. War has never been a pleasant situation, but it was initiated by murderous Hamas, which was the elected representative of the people. But really, this was a convenient trigger. These Muslims were not so deeply concerned when half a million Muslims were slaughtered in Syria by their own government, cities destroyed and chemical bombs thrown into the neighborhoods. The decade long war of Sudanese Muslims waging in Darfur on other Muslims did not interest the extreme Islamic movements in Europe and America.

So do open your eyes before it is too late. It is almost too late already. Governments and police must operate to save the endangered cultures and ways of life. We want to preserve it for the future generations. We don't want to live like Afghanistan? It is on our doorsteps already.

Iran Is Not so Secretly Infiltrating Europe

Robert Williams  •  For full article see https://tinyurl.com/4kvn7fkf

"Hamas sees Western countries such as Germany as a refuge in which the organization can concentrate on collecting donations, recruiting new supporters, and spreading its propaganda." — Germany's domestic intelligence service, apnews.com, November 23, 2023.

  • In February, Belgium's justice minister confirmed that Hamas operates in Brussels... through a network of front companies raising funds for the terrorist organization... Belgian authorities nevertheless continue to allow Hamas to operate there.
  • "Hamas has been in Europe for about 30 years. It's an open secret. Of course, they don't call themselves Hamas... They will have names like Conference of Palestinians Abroad, Palestinians in (country name), Palestinian Students Abroad, and so on. But when you dig a bit, you find out who the people are behind these associations, and what their connections are back home. It's always the same cluster of 20-25 people. Their propaganda, their social media patterns, everything is Hamas." — Lorenzo Vidino, director of the program on extremism at George Washington University, April 12, 2024.
  • "This is a typical Muslim Brotherhood tactic. They come up with a million different names for their organizations, for two reasons: Firstly, they want to give the impression that it's a broad movement, so that when they organize a public event, there will be 50 participating organizations, or if they publish a public letter, there will be 50 signatory groups. Secondly, if one of these groups is taken down by law enforcement, well, there's all the other ones." — Lorenzo Vidino, April 12, 2024.
  • In all of this, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is a central actor. As stated by the US Congress, the IRGC "trains, funds, arms, and shares intelligence with dangerous proxy forces throughout the Middle East and abroad" and has targeted both European and American civilians.
  • The US Congress, Israel and thousands of Iranians have urged the European Union to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization. Nevertheless, the EU refuses to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization.
